An article by Benjamin Spall called “Your Input is Your Output” is about the importance of the awareness of one’s mental and physical health.
The awareness and consideration of one’s welfare is essential, for example, “[y]our input is important. What you put into your body, whether in the form of food, entertainment, or knowledge will have a profound effect on what comes out” (Spall). This shows, one has his or her own responsibilities towards him or herself. Therefore, one must always remain mindful and respectful towards one’s actions and decisions. The world is tainted by the corruption and negativity of those who are content within the obliviousness and sinful behavior of the world. Despite this, the input and output from others could also be beneficial and positive for those who might struggle within this corruption. However, everyone is responsible for his or her own decisions. Furthermore, “[y]our output can only be as good as your input allows it to be. What are you consuming on a daily basis that can have an effect on your output, positive or negative”. (Spall). This reveals, one could consider and retain the information given by his or her peers; but the final decision is made by the individual himself or herself. In addition, one must also be prepared to accept one’s own consequences; and to not blame others for his or her own misfortune.
On the final note, the world on which we live in; is filled with sin and the sin of others. Therefore, one must always remain humble and aware within oneself and overall welfare. Reading a book that others also read or have read is means of social connection. Unfortunately, in today’s world, our time is limited. So many demands are placed upon our time, we often don't have the leisure time required to become fully engrossed in a lengthy novel. Despite this, there is a solution: mini books. (I, a lover of all things miniature, am intrigued by this concept.) "Mini books are designed to be consumed in one or two sittings, which is exactly what today’s busy readers love” (Thompson).
