Tonight I read the article "If You Are Not Writing, You Are Not Thinking" by Abhishek Chakraborty, and it left an impression on me. If we do not challenge ourselves in a more meaningful and insightful perspective into our writing capabilities , it will only damage our way of communication skills towards others. For example, if one does not strengthen their ability to express their thoughts and opinions with their peers, they will only suffer from their ignorance (My apologies if this came across as harsh...) and might even feel isolated. However, there is a way to overcome this tragedy (Oh, yay!) " [i]f you know how to structure your thoughts and
opinions, build a narrative, work out the loopholes, rebut the counters, iron out the creases, you have
an edge over others" (Chakraborty). The importance of being able to structure one's thoughts and opinions, will only add to their willingness to become more confident in their writing perspective. However, in likeness of everything that is valuable; it comes with it's own challenges. The writer must have the motivation in order to improve his or her writing capabilities, especially when sharing their thoughts and opinions. This shows, if one is not challenging themselves; they are only putting themselves at risk at not being able to succeed. Communication is a gift, however if one does not desire to better themselves in expressing their thoughts and opinions; will only leave them discontent. On the final note, being able to communicate and express one's self is for their best interest. However, one might have to persevere through the struggles; like everything else that is valuable, It is worth fighting for.(Also I have a confession to share, I found myself strugging to write this blog. No matter what I tried, my creative juices were not cooperating with me. We're all people, there will be a time for we might struggle or even fail. The difference is how you react afterwards, either you continue on and try your best next time. Or you sense defeat and never try again, only you can decided your next move.) As it often pulls from literature, being well read also allows one to better appreciate various forms of entertainment. Reading a book that others also read or have read is means of social connection. Unfortunately, in today’s world, our time is limited. So many demands are placed upon our time, we often don't have the leisure time required to become fully engrossed in a lengthy novel. Despite this, there is a solution: mini books. (I, a lover of all things miniature, am intrigued by this concept.) "Mini books are designed to be consumed in one or two sittings, which is exactly what today’s busy readers love” (Thompson). Do ...
