I will admit, I had a difficult time reading this mournful article "31 Photos From September 11th That You Have Never Seen." As a daughter of two Navy Veterans, I am familiar with this daunting historical event. I'm also confident to say as us fellow Americans, we were never forget the tragedy of September 11 and the grievous photos that are adjusted onto this incident. However, we can see a different side of the disastrous event.
I'm sure we're all quite familiar with the grievous photos of the citizens making a run for their lives, away from the destruction as the Twin Towers have been struck. Instead, this article shows the aftermath; known as "The Let-Down Effect". "When we’re in high-stress situations, our body activates its “flight or fight” mode, deploying chemicals like adrenaline and cortisol to prepare our immune system for the forthcoming challenges. Unfortunately, as soon as those challenges disappear, so, too, does our immune system’s defenses," (everydaypsych 2025). I was in disbelief on how the citizens' composures remain unfazed, depsite the current event that happened before their very own eyes. In my own understanding, the only way to recover is to adapt (Not to mistaking as appectance.) The ability to adapt, is in our best interest; most importantly it will strengthen our country. Adapting is acknowledging the situation, and decided to make it suitable or adjusting to the current setting. Opposed to accepting, where the situation is recongined. Either to avoid conflict or even ownership, which leads feeling no desire to change.
On the final, September 11 shall never be forgotten. I highly recommend to be in remembrance of those we had lost, and those who adapted and overcame for the sake of our country.

Happy 6th week of college, everyone! I can hardly believe how fast time flies. This evening, I read the Medium article, "What Are Mini Books and Why You Should Publish Them?” . As it often pulls from literature, being well read also allows one to better appreciate various forms of entertainment. Reading a book that others also read or have read is means of social connection. Unfortunately, in today’s world, our time is limited. So many demands are placed upon our time, we often don't have the leisure time required to become fully engrossed in a lengthy novel. Despite this, there is a solution: mini books. (I, a lover of all things miniature, am intrigued by this concept.) "Mini books are designed to be consumed in one or two sittings, which is exactly what today’s busy readers love” (Thompson). Do ...
